I have over 25 years of experience, and am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in neurological differences, trauma and learning. I provide counseling and psycho-educational consulting for children, adolescents, adults and families. Being trilingual, I provide services in English, French and Spanish.
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas, in Austin, Texas and a Certificat Supérieur from The University of Paris, in Paris, France. I earned my Masters degree from The University of St. Thomas, in Houston, Texas, specializing in Counseling, Assessment and Special / Bilingual Education.
Long before working with international families, I earned the designation of Third Culture Kid (“TCK”) having grown up moving internationally and attending international schools.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), Animal Assisted Therapist, Life & Career Coach, School Counselor, Educational Diagnostician, and am a trained Mediator.
My areas of expertise include: Autism Spectrum, Learning Differences, Third Culture Kids, Global Transitions, Chronic Medical Conditions, Trauma Resolution, Adoption / Foster Care, Professional Training and Clinical Supervision.
I worked as a mental health service provider and educational diagnostician in hospitals, therapeutic, private and public schools; as a career coach to international trailing spouses; and as a consultant in several schools and organizations in the Houston area.
I present seminars and workshops to community and professional organizations, churches, and schools. I have contributed articles to publications both in the U.S., and in Spain, and have been interviewed several times as a featured expert on ABC Public Radio and CNN 650AM.
I am a member of the American Counseling Association, Texas Counseling Association, American Psychotherapy Association, and the American Psychological Association. I am a former EWomen Network Premier Success Coach. I have served on several boards including the Alumni Board, and the Board of Visitors, for The School of Education, at The University of St. Thomas, the Medical Advisory Committee for the South Texas Chapter of the Crohns Colitis Foundation and Special Education Assistance Services.
